NEW YORK (AP) — Atlanta left-hander Max Fried has not allowed a hit through six innings in Saturday’s game against the New York Mets, and the Braves lead 3-0.
Fried has struck out four and walked two. He retired the first eight batters before issuing consecutive walks to Tomas Nido and Brandon Nimmo. The Mets came closest to a hit in the third inning, when Harrison Bader’s bloop down the first base line landed just foul. He then grounded out.
The 30-year-old Fried has thrown 85 pitches, 56 for strikes.
