Brazil Awarded 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup; USA, Mexico Withdrew Joint Bid

Brazil has been named the host of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup following a vote of the 211 member nations during the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday.

According to ESPN's Emily Keogh, the vote came down to Brazil versus a joint bid from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The United States and Mexico's joint bid served as the third finalist before the countries decided to pull out of the running three weeks ago and focus on hosting the 2031 World Cup. The U.S., Mexico and Canada will host the 2026 Men's World Cup.
